Jun. 20, 2015 : In early May, my mother and I were in New Orleans for my daughter's wedding. We stayed at the Hotel Provincial on the recommendation of two friends, and we are very happy we did. This is a place with a beautiful heart, and we felt welcomed to new Orleans here. The Hotel Provincial did everything to make us and our stay there feel special. I really don't have the words for this except to say that there is a great deal of love in New Orleans and this is evidenced at the Hotel Provincial. Our room was beautiful, well cared for and quiet. The beds and pillows were very comfortable - perfect for a peaceful sleep. And we could watch the sun set over New Orleans from our windows in the evenings. Being in the French Quarter was perfect for us. It's easily accessible to everything by walking, trolleys, taking cabs. The Hotel Provincial is in a quieter part of the French Quarter, near the river (which is beautiful to sit by or wander along), and within walking distance to so many great restaurants. Our favorites were the Croissant D'Or and Café Amelie. Being near the river also means gentle breezes, which are especially nice on warm humid days. A warm thank you to everyone at the Hotel Provincial - Dorena, Trudy, the staff at the front desk, Archie, Jerome, the men who help with cars and taxis, the housekeeping staff, ... . It is my mother's and my pleasure to recommend the Hotel Provincial. Enjoy your time in New Orleans.
Jun. 18, 2015 : Stayed at Hotel provincial for 6 nights and was extremely pleased. Hotel was very clean and staff was friendly and very accommodating. Pool was beautiful. We were within walking distance of Cafe Dumonde, Jackson Square, and French market. I'll stay again.
Jun. 15, 2015 : This lovely hotel is in a perfect location in the heart of the French Quarter. It is in easy walking distance from everything and has enough of a buffer from Bourbon Street to make it ideal for families.
Jun. 12, 2015 : My family of four stayed at this beautiful, historical hotel for our family vacation. The location is just perfect.... walking distance from pretty much anything you would want to do in the French Quarter. I loved how so much history has been preserved in the decor and "feel" of the place while at the same time having wonderful, comfortable beds and modern hotel conveniences. We particularly found David (not sure of his exact title but seemed like a concierge to me) to be so accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was adequate and convenient and the entire staff was friendly and accommodating. Would most definitely stay there again!
Jun. 10, 2015 : This hotel is perfect. What charm! Why would anyone want to stay at a large "chain" hotel, when they can stay at Hotel Provincial? And what a great location! We were able to walk to numerous French Quarter attractions. Thanks for the hospitality. We will be back!
Jun. 10, 2015 : First trip to New Orleans with my wife and absolutey had to get the hotel part right. Basically based this decision on the many strong reviews I read on TA (as well as input from AAA and Fodders). I had high expectations and the strong staff led by the Magnificent Miss Sherlane somehow exceeded all of them. I'd love to add something new and witty here, but basically just believe all of the good things the other 5 star reviews has to say about my new home away from home. We can hardly wait to get back down to visit all of our new friends here.
Jun. 10, 2015 : We could not have asked for a better hotel. The location was perfect, between the French Market and Bourbon St. We loved the rooms quaintly in the courtyard with a pool. Great air conditioning, comfortable rooms and a good continental breakfast. I definitely recommend this hotel!
Jun. 8, 2015 : We found this lovely hotel quite by accident, but so glad we did. We checked out of another hotel due to major construction and were worried where we would stay. From the moment you get out of your taxi, you are greeted by Terry who takes your bags and walks you into the lobby. The Front desk staff: Kenny, Sherlane, Doreen, Jim were welcoming and helpful. They told us of what the hotel offered and we were pleasantly surprised. We had a lovely complimentary breakfast each morning, lovely accommodations, lively pool area and a lovely courtyard to sit and read the newspaper or just sit and chat. The hotel itself was immaculate and truly charming. They have a restaurant next door and the hotel is truly in a great location. There is The Ice House Bar inside and you can have an late afternoon drink during their Happy Hour. You are within blocks of the Mississippi River and walked the French Market each day. You are around the corner from Irene's which was lovely and a true Louisiana charm place to eat named Coops. They took a map and located all the places we wanted to see and even had a few recommendations we had not considered. You are in the best part of town and within walking distance to everything you want to see. We wanted to thank each of them for making our trip so enjoyable. We travel quite a bit and rarely find people in hotels that really care about the people they meet. Hotel Provincial is a charmed place to spend your time in New Orleans!!! It doesn't get better than this
Jun. 8, 2015 : The employees are extremely kind and helpful. They are SO welcoming and happy to assist you. My room has always been clean, and the bed is very comfortable. This property has a great location! It is close to everything in the French Quarter and very close to the Marigny. I love the fact that my car is parked on the property and that the property is very secure. The valets really take care of your vehicle. I highly recommend this property. I have stayed here three years in a row, and I will definitely return.
Jun. 5, 2015 : "Charming" is often overused, but in this case,it's a perfect fit. Lovely rooms, a beautiful courtyard, attentive staff--and all right in the French Quarter! Everything was in eAsy walking distance. We'd definitely stay there again.
Jun. 3, 2015 : Best people, service, so so accommodating and helpful...I cannot thank them enough! Rooms were clean, the hotel is small and beautiful, quiet neighborhood but perfect location to walk anywhere! They will set up tours, airport transfers and Angeline's for brunch is right next door!
Jun. 1, 2015 : I think this was one of the highlights to our stay in New Orleans. The hotel is well situated in the French Quarter. It's a quaint hotel with a lovely court yard and a separate pool area. We were able to sit in the court yard at night, enjoying cocktails and conversation. The complimentary breakfast is more than adequate. The bar offers what you need. The rooms were lovely. Very clean. More than enough space. I truly have no complaints whatsoever. We were very happy with our stay at this hotel.
Jun. 1, 2015 : My wife and I recently stayed at Hotel Provincial for 4 nights. The location is excellent, in the French Quarter, but not in the raucous area. Our room (with a balcony overlooking Ursuline Street) was clean, comfortable, and very pleasant. Located on the second floor, it did require walking up a fairly long flight of stairs, but I think that added to our privacy and feeling more like locals. The continental breakfast, while far from elegant, was well presented and tasty. The main courtyard was an excellent place for breakfast or afternoon cocktails. Really, for the price, this is an outstanding hotel for the French Quarter. Now, about trust. A few days after we arrived home, I realized I had left two linen shirts and one collared knit shirt in the chest in our room. I called the hotel and found out the housekeeping staff had found the clothing and the front desk was in the process of researching my contact information in order to ship the clothing to me. I was amazed. Not only at the level of integrity of the housecleaning staff, but also the professionalism of the front desk staff. I received the shirts, packaged beautifully, within a couple of days. Obviously, this type of service is extremely rare in today's travel market. I highly recommend Hotel Provincial on all levels.
Jun. 1, 2015 : Fantastic Hotel, staff and Location
May. 26, 2015 : This is a much larger hotel than we'd realized from outside. There are several buildings that are part of it with a few beautiful courtyards and two pools, a restaurant and a small bar. There was complimentary continental breakfast and a B1G1F ticket for a drink at the bar. Parking is $27 max a day with other hourly rates. It's location couldn't be better. This was our 5th trip to NOLA and this hotel had the best location (a block from the French Market, Cafe du Monde, Jackson Square and Frenchmen St). It was also the cleanest and largest room. The bathroom was newly renovated with beautiful marble and there was plenty of space for us to move around. In many other experiences, the hotel's down here have been very tight and the bathrooms unbareable. An absolutely excellent experience and we look forward to staying there again after years of searching for the "right" hotel for us
