Dec. 29, 2014 : I am glad that we decided to stay in this beautiful small hotel in the French Quarter, rather than any big chain hotel downtown or elsewhere in the city or near the airport, convention center, etc. The hotel consists of several charming old buildings, beautiful (and up-to-date!) inside and out. Our room in Building 3 was large, pristine clean and had lovely antique furniture. The bathroom was roomy and the towels were thick and generous. I only wish that one of the six pillows on our bed was as squishy as the one I left at home. The staff was so willing to help us enjoy our experience and share their knowledge of the area. I really felt like they cared that we had a great travel experience. From the hotel we had an easy walk to everything the French Quarter has to offer-- music, art, shopping, and delicious food. We would happily return to this hotel in the future.
Dec. 29, 2014 : This was our second stay at the Provincial; it's our hotel of choice within the Quarter. It's on a quieter end of the Quarter, wonderfully close to the French Market and LaTrobe Park and their lighter ambience (unlike boozy, busy Bourbon Street). Old-world charm, clean rooms with excellent bathroom appointments, reliably attentive service, and an exceptional bartender in their in-house bar (he makes the best Hurricane, bar none, but that's the least of his skills). Add in the convenience of on-site parking (though we didn't drive down this time) and tremendous bang for your buck, and I doubt we'll ever choose another hotel for our New Orleans visits.
Dec. 29, 2014 : The Provincial is in an excellent location for exploring the Quarter or Frenchmen St on foot, also very close to the arts market. Even better than the location, the staff is superb, very accommodating and will do anything they can for you. David the valet is priceless. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in the French Quarter!
Dec. 23, 2014 : This hotel was GREAT!!. I was skeptical due to having to pay for parking and there were other hotels outside of the French Corridor that were a bit less expensive. This was my wife and I's first time visiting New Orleans and at the very last minute, I decided to book at Hotel Provincial. It was definitely worth the price. The staff was great. The room was excellent. The continental breakfast was good. The room was very relaxing and extremely clean. Every time I needed my vehicle, I would call and within 5 minutes max, the car was waiting for me out front. Staff was friendly and the individual at the front counter gave us a map and showed us where most of the attractions were and explained how to get around. Even during a late night (1am), they were able to guide me on the best spots to get food. I will definitely stay here during my next visit.
Dec. 22, 2014 : The only hotel we stay at in New Orleans. Staff always remembers us and always go above and beyond to make us comfortable.
Dec. 22, 2014 : We had a large room. It was very quite. Everything was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location: 3 blocks from Jackson Square and 1 block from the French and Farmers Markets. The staff was extremely considerate and helpful. This is a hotel I would like to return to!!!
Dec. 22, 2014 : Loved the area in the French Quarter. The room was very clean and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would very much recommend this hotel and will stay there on future trips to New Orleans.
Dec. 18, 2014 : My Australian husband and I stayed at the Provincial for 8 nights, leaving three days ago. It was our first time to New Orleans and after a shifty Air BnB experience in New York, a real hotel with a front desk and real people was a joy! This hotel is fantastic. From the front desk staff who greet you warmly, to the cozy, spacious and super quiet room with a welcoming ambience, the free breakfast and cocktail bar that serves lethal cocktails with a lively banter (some of the guests we met there were incredibly entertaining, as are the two bar staff), they make you feel like family. Nothing is a problem, from helping to book tickets to tours, or flagging down a horse and buggy to get you around the French Quarter. Speaking of which ... Location, location. We walked and walked and walked, but nothing beat the terrific location of the Provincial. Around the corner from Frenchman St, with its glorious music and food, and Jackson Square in the other direction. It's perfect. Forget its official 3 star rating. That's there because they don't have room service. You don't need it here. If you want that, book into one of those classy high-end 5 star places where you get a lot of attitood with your huge bill. When you're finished for the day, grab one of those famous New Orleans cocktails at the Provincial and head out to the lovely courtyard with your drink. You won't be there long before a staff member asks you if you'd like another one, ma'am? Say yes, y'all. Say yes. We won't stay anywhere else but the Provincial when we return to the Big Easy. It opens its arms to travellers in the warmest way. What else do you need?
Dec. 16, 2014 : The hotel was excellent with great service. The courtyard is so 'French Quarter' providing an experience you cannot get from a chain. I read in the courtyard and socialized with our neighbors. The location works well with easy access to whatever you want to do. Our room was immaculate and provided an authentic experience. The staff was able to please my wife and I. We are not easy to make happy and the hotel staff accomplished this with ease! We will definitely return.
Dec. 16, 2014 : This was close enough to everything we wanted to see and do yet far enough away to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet from the hubbub and crowds of New Orleans. We also chose this hotel to avoid having to park on the street. Upon arrival, everyone was very friendly and courteous. The rooms were cute, quaint and very clean. The beds were absolutely the most comfortable hotel bed we have ever slept in. The only complaint we could say we had was more with the other guests not being hospitable by allowing their doors to slam very early in the morning. (You couldn't hear through the walls which was nice, just the slamming of the doors). Continental breakfast was okay, your typical pastry, bagel and cereal spread. To us we thrive on great service and comfortableness and therefore we would definitely stay there again!
Dec. 15, 2014 : We stayed one night at the hotel and were very pleased. The staff were friendly and helpful. I've read a lot of reviews about parking costs and I think they're rates were comparable or a little less than other hotels I looked at. We were allowed to check in early which was great after a long drive!
Dec. 8, 2014 : The Provincial Hotel is our favorite for over twenty years. The welcome is always warm, very convenient to visit all the tourist places. Parking is protected and you can see his car, not like in the larger hotels. Breakfast is included, but what I like is to go to the Golden Crescent which is ten steps.
Dec. 8, 2014 : yes ive been to French quarter a couple of times now and............hands down your hurricane is the best ive had so far in new orleans
Dec. 8, 2014 : Another calorie filled trip to the Workboat Show. As usual the service was great and the hotel was beautiful. The best location in the French Quarter. It has been a while since we went home to New Orleans. Due to business we haven't had the chance to stay at the Provincial for a couple of years. It was good to be home. The changes in New Orleans are remarkable. It just keeps getting better.
Dec. 8, 2014 : The staff was super friendly! We got there very late because our flight was delayed and the Concierge and Valet were still up and ready to help in every way! The staff was great! The room was a nice taste of history! Great location! Would definitely go back and stay!
