NOLA New Year’s Eve
Christmas may be over but the holiday festivities in New Orleans are still in full swing!
The NOLA Christmas Fest and Celebration in the Oaks are still running on Friday night, ending at midnight this Saturday. Also on Friday, the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus will hold a second-line parade in tribute to the late Carrie Fisher, the actress who starred as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films. If you’ve never experienced a second-line parade in New Orleans, this is one you won’t want to miss.
As usual, there are several options for ringing in the New Year in New Orleans. This year’s Crescent City Countdown will once again produce the traditional NOLA New Year’s Eve midnight fireworks display over the Mississippi River.
And this year, the free French Quarter concert event of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Fan Fest is a co-production with “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ with Ryan Seacrest.” All music will come from the Allstate Sugar Bowl Fan Fest stage starting at 6:00 p.m. The holiday merriment concludes when the Oklahoma sooners play the Auburn Tigers for the 2017 Sugar Bowl, on Monday, January 2 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Hotel Provincial is the perfect place to stay during these events. Since we’re in the middle of the French Quarter, both the New Year’s Eve events and the Sugar Bowl are within walking distance.
We still have a few rooms available for New Year’s Eve and the Sugar Bowl. This is a popular time to stay in the city, so if you’re thinking about making a trip to The Big Easy then the time to book is now.
You can search for and book a room on our website, or give us a call at (504) 581-4995 to speak with one of our staff members about availability.
We hope you will join us in the revelry of the French Quarter welcoming 2017!
