November is for football fans

November and December are shaping up to be great months to be in New Orleans, especially if you’re a sports fan.

If you’re looking for a weekend getaway, Hotel Provincial still have a few rooms open tomorrow night (Friday, November 7, 2013). Stay all weekend for the big Saints vs. Cowboys game on Sunday. Watching the Saints play in the comfort of your own home is fine, but it’s so much better in person at the Mercedes Superdome. Even watching it in a New Orleans bar is exciting! What’s better than being surrounded by Saints fans in their home town?

We also has a couple of rooms open the last two weekends in November.  The Louisiana State University Tigers will face off with the Texas A&M Aggies on Nov. 23 for what is sure to be a great game in college football. Stay in New Orleans and drive to Baton Rouge to tailgate on game day.

If you can’t make it to New Orleans that weekend, then come stay with us Nov. 30 for the Bayou Classic. The annual Bayou Classic football game pits Grambling State University and Southern University against each other at the end of each season. It’s a whole weekend of activities though, from parades to a battle of the marching bands. LSU will also be playing at home that weekend, if the Tigers are your team.

Besides football, there’s Thanksgiving, which is a great time to be in the city (especially with all of the great food around). There will also be an exhibit at the Ursuline Convent (located next door to Hotel Provincial) called "The Archbishop Wore Combat Boots.” This special exhibit will chronicle the life of Archbishop Phillip Hannan. Visitors will be able to see some of his personal artifacts, as well as some from the National WWII Museum, up close, and learn about Hannan’s incredible life, from his eulogy at John F. Kennedy’s funeral to his many accomplishments within the archdiocese of New Orleans.

If you’d like to plan a trip for any of these events, just give us a call: (504) 581-4995. We look forward to seeing you!
