Today, the Hotel Provincial team was honored to volunteer at the St. Jude Community Center as part of the Greater New Orleans Hotel & Lodging Association's Feed the Need NOLA project, serving food to the homeless of New Orleans. Feed the Need NOLA's mission is to to further increase the lodging industry and related businesses’ contributions to the Greater New Orleans community by eliminating some of the economic burden that area shelters face feeding those in need.
We got there early and were eager to help out. Our team was split into groups and rotated through different activities under the guidance of Chef Etienne Devlin. Preparing food and vegetables, making salads, meals and desserts, we fixed a Caesar salad, chicken tetrazzini, and banana cake. And we were busy! We fed 200 people during the course of the day.
This afternoon had a very positive impact on the team as we worked together to help our community. We'd like to thank St. Jude Community Center for providing the opportunity to volunteer and being an integral part of New Orleans.
