Visiting New Orleans During The Holidays
New Orleans is the known for the Mardi Gras season, but the best time to visit the Crescent City might just be the holiday season. There is nothing like seeing the city decorated with garland and illuminated with holiday lights. There is just so much to do during the holiday season that you may need a whole month here to experience it all!
Christmas, New Orleans Style
During the day, of course there’s the shopping! No matter who you are shopping for, I’m sure that there’s a store in the French Quarter that has the perfect present for that special someone.
After a successful day of shopping and seeing the rest of the sites that the city has to offer, head over to one of the many restaurants offering a Reveillon dinner this holiday season. Reveillon is a traditional dinner, historically on Christmas and New Year’s Eves. However, today they spread the mouthwatering meals throughout the entire month of December. The menus mix traditional Creole cuisine with modern New Orleans style cooking to create hearty, delicious meals that you don’t want to miss.
One night during your stay, you’ll have to visit City Park to take in the Celebration In The Oaks. It’s a favorite of the locals and visitors from all over the world that features millions of lights that brighten the park at night, amusement park rides and holiday themed food and drink. The hot buttered rum is a must try!
If you’re looking for a secluded, intimate place to stay during the holiday season in New Orleans, we have rooms available, some at a special discounted rate. We are located close to all of the Christmas activities, the best spots for holiday shopping and of course lots of phenomenal restaurants.
Sugarbowl Hotel Rooms
Florida Gator and Louisville Cardinal fans, it’s less than a month to the big game! We still have some guest rooms available for fans that are traveling to New Orleans for the Allstate Sugarbowl. We’re just a short distance to the Superdome where the game is played. Of course, since we’re located in the heart of French Quarter near all of the premier restaurants and exciting activities for before and after the game.
