Your April Thrill List

April 1 2018 | News

Get out there and explore New Orleans in April when the weather is balmy and the musicians are hot (the crawfish, too). Here are eight great reasons to reserve your room at Hotel Provincial this month.

1. Put a bonnet on it – April 1

There are three Easter parades in the French Quarter on Sunday: the Historic French Quarter Parade, the Chris Owens French Quarter Easter Parade and the Gay Easter Parade. Hop on down to the parade route for the fun!

2. Put your art in it at the Ogden Museum – All Month Long

Through August 19, The Ogden Museum of Southern Art will be home to “A Precise Vision: The Architectural Archival Watercolors of Jim Blanchard.” Blanchard, home grown right here in Louisiana, is famous for his watercolor and gouache paintings of Louisiana buildings. Learn more.

3. Hang out with locals at Wednesday at the Square – April 4, 11, 18 & 25

This popular free concert series includes four evenings of music in April. Come see Sweet Crude + Travers Geoffray, Flow Tribe with co-headliner Samantha Fish, Wayne Toups + Darcy Malone, and Big Sam’s Funky Nation + The Deslondes. The concerts run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Learn more.

4. Celebrate spring at the Freret Street Festival – April 7
